computer slow down

It is very annoying especially when you are doing something very important on your computer and it suddenly gets frozen. This happened to a PC due to some issues which each of them has different ways to get solved.

In this article, all the possible issues causing a computer to slow down are explained. And we have summarized all the solutions into 5 groups, you can try them one after the other if you are not sure which of them will actually solve the problem but one will surely solve the problem.

1. Uninstall some programs.

There are two different types of programs we advise you to delete if your system is working slowly. The first one is the unnecessary programs that are installed on your PC. Actually, there are some programs on your system that you can count the number of times you have used, even, there are some others that you have not used at all, you just install them on your PC minding that they are kept for future use. Delete those programs.
Those programs may not actually occupy space on your system but they are loading slowly which reduces your computer speed.

The second type of program you need to uninstall is high-level programs, these programs use much space in RAM and at the same time reduce your system processing power. Try to find all these programs and delete them except if they are very important to you, if they are your most useful programs then don’t remove them, there are some other ways mentioned below to solve them.
There are some other programs under this category that you need to delete or adjust the way they work on your computer. These programs are the programs that start automatically when you start your computer. You don’t need to start these programs before they work, they start automatically once your PC is ON.

Delete those programs if they are not important to you but if they are very useful, try to remove them from auto-start programs. This can be done in Task Manager.

To access Task Manager on your computer;
Click on the search box by the bottom left of your windows and type Task Manager, it will pop up some options, click on Task manager
Click on Startup at the top menu > Right-click on the Application and choose Disable.

2. Clean Temp folder and Recycle bin

Temp folder is the folder where temporary files are stored temporary files, also called temp or temp files. They are created by Windows or programs on your computer to hold data while a permanent file is being written or updated. The data will be transferred to a permanent file when the task is complete, or when the program is closed.

Try to clean that folder by deleting all files inside it. Click here to learn how to clean the Temp folder.
You should regularly delete temporary files to free up space, speed up your computer, and reduce the risk of errors, bugs, and crashes. When your drive gets too full, it can slow down your computer and you will not have any room to save new files.

If you are asking me, it is safe to delete temp files or not? Yes, it is safe to delete them without any worries.

To clean the temp folder. This is the directory; C:UsersAppDataLocalTemp. Or check different methods to clean up the temp folder.

3. Scan your computer for Malware

Malware is the general term for any malicious or unwanted software. Malware includes Viruses, Spyware, Worms, Trojans, etc. But the one we need for this topic is Virus, worms, and Trojan

Virus

A virus is a program created to enter a computer and damage the files/data. A virus corrupts and deletes data on your computer. Viruses can also replicate themselves.

Viruses can enter your computer as an attachment of images, audio, and video files. It also enters through what you download on the Internet. They are hidden in software or other files.

Worms

Worms are malicious programs that replicate themselves again on your storage. The work of the worm on a computer is to reproduce itself repeatedly. It doesn’t harm computers files on the computer. Unlike a virus, it doesn’t attach to an existing program but it only replicates.

Due to its replication nature, it takes a lot of space in the hard drive and consumes more CPU use which in turn makes the pc too slow.

Try to scan your computer to find all the malware on it and delete them all. Don’t spare any malware unrelated.

4. Upgrade your storage

Storage is a mechanism that enables a computer to retain data, either temporarily or permanently.
To increase your computer speed, you need to increase its storage capacity, storage that retains data temporarily and permanently.

The storage that store data temporarily in computers is RAMs while the one that stores data permanently are Hard-drives.

RAM

Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of computer memory that is used to store working data. It is a computer’s short-term memory, which it uses to handle all active tasks and apps on your system.

If the size of your RAM is low, your computer also works slowly. If you are using 2GB before then upgrade it to 4GB, if it is 4GB upgrade it to 8GB, and so on.

Hard-drive

A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk, hard drive, or fixed disk is an electromechanical data storage device that stores and retrieves digital data.

Computer storage (Hard-drive) speed is measured in rpm(revolution per speed), the size of rpm has an effect on starting up the computer operating system and programs so computers with low storage take a longer time to start up the OS and programs. For better performance, get a computer with at least 5,500rpm storage.

5. Buy a new Computer

If you have tried all the methods above and your system is still working slowly or freezing, then you need to buy a new system. Your computer is either old or its capacity is very low for the work you are using it for. So, try to buy a new system. But before you buy a new system read our previous post to understand what you should know before buying a new computer so that you will not make a mistake and buy what will not serve you wellÂ
